Artsakh Republic State Minister, Chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission Coordinating the Prevention of the Spread of the New Coronavirus Grigori Martirosyan yesterday discussed with RA Minister of Health Arayik Baghryan the work carried out in the direction of disease prevention and future steps.
The State Minister inquired about the progress of work carried out in the direction of infection prevention, and the degree of replenishment of material and service resources.
According to the information provided by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the RA State Minister’s Office, according to the data presented by A. Baghryan, to date no case of infection with the new coronavirus has been recorded in the republic.
“To date, around 40 samples have been sent to the RA for testing, all of which have returned negative results. I should also inform you that within the framework of the work to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, discussions are being organized, maintaining constant contact with our RA partners. Within the framework of the comprehensive measures implemented, all medical institutions have been stocked with both single-use supplies and disinfectants, as well as laser remote thermometers. The two checkpoints of the RA have also been equipped with laser remote thermometers,” the Minister of Health said in his remarks.
The State Minister noted that earlier the government had reached an agreement with two local companies, according to which protective masks will be produced if necessary, which, in the assessment of the Minister of Health, meet the established medical standards and will be provided according to distribution lists for additional use.
Speaking about acute respiratory infections in the republic, A. Baghryan stated that in all medical institutions of the republic the rate of visits by the aforementioned patients has decreased, which is also noticeable thanks to the monitoring carried out in preschool and general education institutions.
At the end of the meeting, G. Martirosyan made a statement, urging RA citizens to avoid visits abroad and business trips, except in cases of extreme necessity.
