It is with bitter heartache that we received the news of the death of comrade Hrayr Jghalian, a devoted member of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party.
Our late comrade, who fell victim to a merciless automobile accident, was born in Cairo, in 1955, and for nearly two decades had headed the ADL Egypt Regional Board, while also being one of the most respected figures of the Egyptian-Armenian community.
At a younger age he had been a renowned, outstanding athlete, having for years been the “star” of the H.M.E.M.-Nubar basketball team. He had also been one of the most prominent members of the youth committee of the Armenian Art Lovers Association.
Elected by the 14th General Delegates Convention of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (Athens, 2006), he had also served successfully for a term as a member of the ADL Central Board.
On the sad occasion of the untimely death of late comrade Hrayr Jghalian, we express our heartfelt condolences to his brother, Avedis, his sister, Anahid, as well as to our entire ADL Egypt circle.
