The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada organized a reception at Ottawa’s historic Château Laurier hotel to mark the 35th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.
Present at this notable gathering were ambassadors, senators, elected officials, diplomats, clergymen and representatives of the Canadian-Armenian community, paying tribute to this historic milestone.
In her remarks, Ambassador Anahit Harutyunian touched on the historic significance of 21 September 1991 and our people’s pride on that day, when Armenia restored its independence and began a new chapter as a sovereign state.

For Armenians around the world, this anniversary is not simply a date on the calendar. It symbolizes our people’s enduring spirit, our determination to preserve our national identity and our unwavering hope for a peaceful, prosperous and strong Armenia.
The Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (ADL) was proudly represented at this reception and conveyed its congratulations and best wishes to Ambassador Anahit Harutyunian on this important occasion.
