The National Assembly adopted in the second and final reading the package of draft laws submitted by the deputies of the “My Step” faction, which stipulates that judges of the Constitutional Court whose terms have ended under the latest amendments will be granted a pension in accordance with the procedure established by law.
The package of draft laws on making amendments and additions to the constitutional law on the “Constitutional Court” and on making an amendment to the law on “Ensuring the Activities, Servicing and Social Guarantees of Officials,” presented by Suren Grigoryan and Vahagn Hovakimyan, received 80 votes in favor and 1 against at the extraordinary session of the National Assembly.
The “Bright Armenia” and “Prosperous Armenia” factions did not participate in the session.
The main purpose of the regulation is to ensure the right to a pension for those judges of the Constitutional Court whose terms have ended as a result of the constitutional amendments. This concerns three judges: Alvina Gyulumyan, Felix Tokhyan and Hrand Nazaryan.
