A protest by Artsakh residents has begun in Stepanakert’s Renaissance Square, demanding the immediate opening of the road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world.
As reported by Armenpress, one of the protest’s initiators, Tigran Petrosyan, chairman of the “Tomorrow’s Artsakh” party, stated that the protest participants will first march to the Stepanakert memorial to pay tribute to the memory of servicemen killed in the Artsakh wars, and then to the checkpoint of the Russian Federation’s peacekeeping forces located on the Stepanakert-Shushi road, to demand that they remove the Azerbaijanis from the Lachin corridor.
“Why them? Because we have the trilateral statement signed on November 9, which places clear obligations on the parties, and today it is evident that both sides are not fulfilling or cannot fulfill their obligations. Azerbaijan is violating Article 6 of the statement, and Russia has undertaken the obligation to guarantee the security of the Lachin corridor, which it is not ensuring or cannot ensure,” Petrosyan said.
