Vagharshak Harutyunyan, chief advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, former Minister of Defense, and lieutenant general, stated in an interview with Haykakan Zhamanak that, according to the treaty signed between Armenia and Russia in 1997, Russia will fulfill its obligations toward Armenia if necessary. According to Harutyunyan, after the Armenian Prime Minister’s letter, consultations have begun, as a result of which the extent, type, and necessity of Russia’s intervention will be determined.
“So everything is proceeding in its own course, in accordance with the situation created. It is not new that the Russian side will carry out actions; it has already carried them out,” assured the chief advisor of Nikol Pashinyan.
