I was deeply impressed by my visit to Artsakh. After the meeting with Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan, US Congresswoman Jackie Speier said this during a conversation with an “Artsakhpress” correspondent, emphasizing that she had not imagined that Artsakh was so beautiful.
“Artsakh has a very difficult geopolitical position, and the problems stem from that. The people of Artsakh rightly have the right to speak about their rights. After visiting Artsakh, we will double our efforts to convince the US authorities that they must support Artsakh,” Speier said in particular.
US Congresswoman Judy Chu, who met with the Artsakh Republic President along with Jackie Speier, said that they have introduced an amendment to the US “National Defense Authorization Act” bill, which reaffirms the importance of the “Engel-Royce initiative” aimed at reducing tensions on the line of contact between the armed forces of Artsakh and Azerbaijan. It also concerns the withdrawal of sniper systems and snipers.
“I did all this without having seen Artsakh. From now on, I will work with even greater zeal so that Artsakh is no longer endangered, we have peace, and Artsakh has the appropriate means to develop,” Judy Chu added.
