Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in an interview given to Azerbaijani media after his meeting in Munich with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, announced that he had officially proposed to the Armenian side the installation of checkpoints between Lachin and Armenia.
He stated that Armenia has not yet responded to his proposal.
Aliyev described the trilateral meeting as “productive.”
“Many issues were discussed, including the question of signing a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the conditions for signing the document. Of course, I reaffirmed my position. The main thing is that this peace treaty must be concluded on the basis of the principles and norms of international law,” he said.
