500 people have already fulfilled their civic duty through electronic voting. The results of that vote will be tallied today, after the main voting concludes in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
This was announced moments ago during a press conference at the CEC information centre by the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, Tigran Mukuchyan.
He reminded that 25 political forces are participating in the elections — 21 parties and 4 alliances. In total, 2,510 candidates are included in the electoral lists.
For the conduct of the elections, 2,008 polling stations have been formed in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, 12 of which are in penitentiary institutions.
All polling stations opened at the scheduled time — 8:00 — and citizens of the Republic of Armenia are already casting their votes.
This morning, 119 commission members included in precinct electoral commissions did not appear at 114 polling stations. According to Mukuchyan, this means there are a minimal number of absences, and overall, there is no station where the commission chairman has not appeared. In 5 of the stations, the commission secretary was absent.
Voter registration at polling stations will be carried out through technical devices; 4,006 such devices have been allocated to polling stations in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, all of which were operational as of 8 o’clock.
To cover the process, 49 foreign and 68 local media outlets have been accredited.
An observation mission is being carried out by 8 international and 19 local organisations.
