As of 8:30 a.m., there is no change in the situation on the front line. This was stated today, 21 September, by MOD spokesperson Aram Torosyan during a conversation with journalists at the Yerablur Pantheon.
“In the event of any wounded on the enemy’s side, the MOD issues an official statement about it,” he said.
Regarding the non-publication of the names of the fallen, he stated: “The MOD has never said that it will not publish them. We have said that we are guided only by accurate, infallible information. All name lists will be published after final verification.”
The journalists were also interested in whether the enemy continues to accumulate forces on Armenia’s borders. “The armed forces are carrying out the task set before them in full scope, vigilantly implementing all tasks envisaged for the protection of the state border and sovereign territory,” said Aram Torosyan.
Referring to possible positional losses, the MOD spokesperson said: “All kinds of verification work is being carried out — both material and other. Work is being done to verify losses; upon the full completion of that work, the MOD will provide summary information.”
To the question of whether the Azerbaijani groups have succeeded in being removed from Armenian territory in the Jermuk direction, or whether, as the Chief of the General Staff had said, you are waiting for their supplies to run out and for them to withdraw on their own, the MOD spokesperson replied: “After the Chief of the General Staff presented the situation, no change in the situation has taken place.”
Let us recall that days ago, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Eduard Asryan had stated that an Azerbaijani detachment of about 10-12 people in the Jermuk direction is surrounded and, if it does not receive food and other means, will withdraw and join their remaining forces.
