On February 15, two earthquakes were recorded near the village of Shorja by the seismological network of the Territorial Service for Seismic Protection of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, one hour apart — the first at 10:27 PM local time, and the second at 11:31 PM.
The first was an earthquake (aftershock) of magnitude 3.3, located 5 km northeast of the village of Shorja in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province, at a focal depth of 10 km, and the second was an earthquake (aftershock) of magnitude 2.0, located 4 km northeast of the village of Shorja in Gegharkunik Province, at a focal depth of 10 km. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In the case of the first, the intensity of the underground tremor at the epicentral zone was 4-5 degrees, and in the case of the second, it was 2-3 degrees.
The earthquake (aftershock) was felt in the community of Tsovagyugh and in the city of Gavar with an intensity of 3 degrees, in the cities of Sevan, Abovyan, Dilijan and Ijevan with an intensity of 2-3 degrees, and in the case of the second, in the communities of Shoghakat and Chambarak with an intensity of 2-3 degrees.
