On the anniversary of the pogroms against Armenians carried out in Sumgait on 27-29 February 1988, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by National Assembly President Alen Simonyan, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan and members of the Security Council, visited the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the atrocity.
The high-ranking officials laid a wreath and placed flowers at the khachkars commemorating the Armenians who fell victim to the massacres organised by the Azerbaijani government in the cities of Sumgait, Kirovabad (Ganja) and Baku in Azerbaijan.
