The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, delivered a special address at an extraordinary session of the Artsakh parliament, during which he declared martial law and general mobilization for the age group above eighteen. Arayik Harutyunyan announced this through his Facebook page.
“In light of the situation that has arisen, an extraordinary session of the National Assembly was convened. Addressing the deputies, I declared martial law and general mobilization for the age group above eighteen.
We have repeatedly stated that we are not in favor of war, but we are prepared for war.
There is no one more peace-loving and more in favor of peace than us.
We do not want war; this war has been imposed on us, and we are obliged to defend our homeland and our families.
The full responsibility for the aggravation of the situation shall be borne by the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan.
For the humanitarian catastrophe looming over the region, Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev personally shall answer,” wrote Harutyunyan.
