In the nationwide elections held on 31 March, the total number of voters in the Republic of Artsakh presidential election was 104,348, and the number of participants in the voting was 76,728, or 73.5%. This was stated today during a press conference by the Chair of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Artsakh, Srbuhi Arzumanyan.
According to her, the number of invalid ballots was 2,625, or ballots incorrectly filled out by 3.5% of the voters who participated in the election.
Thus, 202 voters, or 0.3% of the ballots cast, voted for Kristin Balayan; Vitaly Balasanyan received 10,755, or 14.7%; Sergey Amireyan received 106 voters, or 0.2%; Davit Babayan received 587 voters, or 0.8%; Bella Lalayan received 162 voters, or 0.2%; Arayik Harutyunyan received 36,076, or 49.26%; Hayk Khanumyan received 962 voters, or 1.3%; Davit Ishkhanyan received 1,873 voters, or 2.56%; Vahan Badasyan received 743 voters, or 1%; Masis Mayilyan received 19,360, or 26.4%; Ashot Ghulyan received 1,683 voters, or 2.3%; Ruslan Israelyan received 368 voters, or 0.5%; Ashot Dadayan received 198 voters, or 0.3%; and Melsik Poghosyan received 141 voters, or 0.2%.
S. Arzumanyan reported that none of the candidates surpassed the 50+1 votes of all votes cast for all candidates, which means that a second round must be held.
According to the electoral legislation, the second round will be held on 14 April. The final decision will be made on 7 April.
