Constitutional Referendum to Be Held on April 5

The President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has signed a decree calling a referendum on constitutional amendments. The decree states: “Guided by Article 206 of the Constitution, as well as Part 1 of Article 12 of the Constitutional Law ‘On Referendum,’ and based on the National Assembly’s decision No. AN-001-N of February 6, 2020, ‘On Placing the Draft Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia on Referendum,’ 1. The decree states: “Guided by Article 206 of the Constitution, as well as Part 1 of Article 12 of the Constitutional Law ‘On Referendum,’ and based on the National Assembly’s decision No. AN-001-N of February 6, 2020, ‘On Placing the Draft Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia on Referendum,’
1. The referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia shall be held on April 5, 2020.
2. This decree shall enter into force on the day following its official publication.”
