On December 9, it became known that five of the ten prisoners returned to Armenia in recent days have been charged under the article on violating the rules of combat duty or combat service. This act is punishable by three to eight years of imprisonment.

Two of the prisoners returned to Armenia on December 4 — contract servicemen — have been detained by court decision. As the defenders of the former prisoners told Radio Azatutyun, the court rejected the motion to detain Major Narek Yeremyan, deputy commander of the battalion of the military unit.

The court is still examining the issue of detention for two of the servicemen. The servicemen with defendant status were captured on November 16, the day of the bloody battles that unfolded within the border areas of Syunik and Vayots Dzor. On that day, the Armenian side had lost two positions. Earlier, within the framework of this case, the two commanders of the lost position had been detained on charges of violating the rules of combat service.
