As we had reported earlier, Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan convened a meeting during which he met with the elected deputies of the “Civil Contract” party.
During a conversation with journalists after the “Civil Contract” party meeting held on 26 July, NA Vice President Alen Simonyan said: “First of all, we discussed the upcoming work and cooperation with the NA and the government. A decision was made that an investigative committee will be created regarding the 44-day war. And on that matter, we believe the participation of the extra-parliamentary opposition should also be included.”
In response to the observation that the opposition has repeatedly stated that the committee on the 44-day war to be created by this government cannot conduct an objective examination, Alen Simonyan responded: “The assessments regarding objectivity and the opposition’s evaluations are assessments that have been voiced before every election. The people of the Republic of Armenia gave their answer to all those questions on the 20th of the month. No one will dare to question the decision of the people of the Republic of Armenia anymore.”
Alen Simonyan also informed that various other issues were discussed at the meeting, purely related to the NA’s organisational matters, committees, and regulations.
