The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has not ruled out the possibility of meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in Prague. This was reported by the Turkish news agency “Anadolu”.
Erdogan stated that the question of participating in the meeting of the European Political Community to be held in Prague is being discussed, noting that if they decide to go to the Czech Republic, Pashinyan will presumably also be there. “There is a possibility that we will have the opportunity to discuss all issues there,” he said.
Erdogan also said that certain initiatives will take place in the Caucasus, which for the moment are still in the planning stage. He added that he will discuss these matters with his brother, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and on that basis they will take steps.
The possibility of a meeting between Pashinyan and Erdogan was also confirmed by the spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vahan Hunanyan. Responding to a question from Armenpress on the matter, he said: “A meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the event to be held in Prague is not ruled out. At the same time, as of this moment, such a meeting has not been confirmed. In the event that the meeting is confirmed, the public will be informed in due time.”
