Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has stated that the establishment of long-term peace will depend on a correct assessment of the situation created after the end of military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Azerbaijan has restored international law and has practically created new realities in the region and the world. I believe that the use of opportunities for establishing long-term peace and stability in the region will largely depend on the correct assessment of these realities by the countries of the region and major states,” Aliyev said, according to the TASS agency, during a video link with Ismail Serageldin, co-chair of the “Nizami Ganjavi International Center,” an Egyptian scholar and political figure.
According to Aliyev, “Azerbaijan today demonstrates readiness to close the page of enmity, hatred and confrontation.” He added that they have already moved on to implementing the process of rebuilding the region.
