Work is to begin this year on excavating the historical layer of Old Yerevan beneath Republic Square and turning it into a museum section. This was written by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.
“As a result, Republic Square is to become a much more attractive site,” the Prime Minister wrote.
The Minister of Education, Science, Sport and Culture, Arayik Harutyunyan, also noted on his Facebook page that he is discussing with experts the possibilities of restoring the old city.
