The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the New Year.
“Honorable citizens of the Republic of Armenia,
Dear compatriots,
In a few minutes, we will turn the last page of the 2022 calendar and enter the year 2023.
The outgoing year was full of trials and challenges for our statehood: with a continuous struggle and achievements for the sovereignty and independence of our state, with irreparable losses, with border tensions and security threats facing the Armenians of Artsakh.
On the eve of 2023, I wish that each of us, in our families, around our festive tables, while mentally summarizing the outgoing year, casts a brief glance back and sees what is to be left behind in the outgoing year and what must be taken with us into the coming new years.
With what experience and knowledge are we to step into the coming year, with what hopes, will and faith are we, as a state, as a nation and as a collective society, to continue our path towards our sacred dream — a developing, prosperous, secure and peaceful Armenia.
It is precisely to have such an Armenia that I believe our people can realize and appreciate their historical experience and wisdom; I believe that in the sum of that awareness, we can find the potential to build our longed-for homeland.
I am also confident that we will emerge from the trials that have befallen our country stronger, firmer and wiser.
Dear people,
In the coming year, the priorities of our state, our citizens and state officials continue to be the development and strengthening of our country:
the assurance of peace and security of our borders, the rights of our compatriots in Artsakh to live with dignity and to create in their millennia-old homeland, and the just resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
Dear compatriots,
On the threshold of the coming year 2023, I wish us all peace, abundant family happiness, resilience, and peaceful and creative work for the benefit and welfare of the Republic of Armenia.
Happy New Year.”
