Irregular gunfire was heard overnight in the area of the Sotk mine, as a result of which an urgent decision was made to halt operations at the mine. This was stated by Ruzanna Grigoryan, a representative of the GeoProMining Gold company, in a conversation with Tert.am.
According to her, all employees have been evacuated, and only security personnel remain there now: “Around 150 employees were on duty at the time. There were no casualties,” she said, adding that the mine has not been operating up to this point.
In response to the question of what the current situation is at the mine and whether the gunfire is continuing, Grigoryan replied that it is difficult to establish contact with the security personnel at the mine, and there is no information.
