The Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and Turkey, Sergey Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu, discussed the situation in the zone of the Karabakh conflict. As reported by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the telephone conversation took place on 11 October at the initiative of the Turkish side.
“During the conversation, an exchange of views took place regarding the situation in the zone of the Karabakh conflict, in light of the results of the trilateral negotiations held in Moscow between 9 and 10 October. The necessity of upholding all the provisions of the joint statement of the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Armenia of 10 October was emphasised.
The Russian side confirmed its readiness to continue active mediation efforts aimed at the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, taking into account the provisions of the statement made in Moscow,” the report stated.
