French President Emmanuel Macron, during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, recalled the importance of international cooperation for a political solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. The telephone conversation between Macron and Putin took place on the eve of the visit of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to Moscow.
The Elysee Palace stated that Macron declared that attention must be paid to the humanitarian situation in the region. He also noted that a discussion of a “political solution” in Nagorno-Karabakh must begin. “The political leaders have agreed to coordinate their actions in this direction,” read the statement from the French president’s administration, as reported by RFI.
