Martin Galstyan has been elected Chairman of the Central Bank in a closed and secret ballot held within the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
119 deputies participated in the vote, of whom 104 voted “in favor” and 15 “against.”
Martin Galstyan holds a candidate’s degree in economics. He began his career in 1998 at the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. Since 2018, he has been a member of the Central Bank’s board.
He will replace Arthur Javadyan, whose term of office expires on 1 June.
