On September 28, Sisak Gabrielyan, Chairman of the RA National Assembly Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports, hosted a group of diaspora Armenian youth currently in Armenia on a familiarization visit within the framework of the “Diaspora Youth Ambassador” program.
Welcoming the guests, Sisak Gabrielyan spoke about the importance of Armenia-Diaspora ties and active cooperation.
During the conversation, held in a question-and-answer format, the deputy addressed the need for a law on repatriation. According to the deputy, the draft will be put into circulation as early as next year.
The young people proposed making immigration professional, according to the necessary fields. The need for teaching the Armenian language in Diaspora schools was addressed. It was noted that there is a need for specialists there. It was proposed to resolve the issue of vacant teaching positions at the state level.
The diaspora Armenians raised the issue of having a representative in the RA parliament, also emphasizing their participation in electoral processes.
The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports promised to address the raised issues within the framework of the discussion of the aforementioned draft law and to provide solutions to them.
