The next situation around which some tension may occur or arise concerns the Qubadli and Zangilan districts. This was stated by Nikol Pashinyan during an extraordinary session of the Security Council.
«The next issue on which we must make decisions in the near future is connected with the situation in the Qubadli and Zangilan districts.
Regarding those districts, of course, there is no mention in the joint statement, because at the moment of the statement’s signing those territories, unfortunately, were for the most part under the control of Azerbaijani forces, that is, only small sections remained. During those negotiations there was an understanding that a demarcation of borders should take place in those sections.
The next situation around which some tension may occur or arise concerns precisely this section.
Here the subtlety is that we have a road of strategic importance for us passing through that section; there are certain issues connected with the demarcation of borders. Yesterday, past midnight, discussions took place in Moscow with the participation of the defence minister.
There are several proposals and options for resolving the situation, and in the near future we must make a decision regarding any one of those options», — stated Pashinyan.
