Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by Acting Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, visited the “Saranist” company operating in Kotayk Province, which is engaged in glass production, and the cognac factory that has very recently begun operations.
The Prime Minister’s press service reports that during the tour, company owner Melik Manukyan presented the glass and then cognac production processes and development plans.
It was noted that the company currently has 4 glass production workshops with separate furnaces, thereby meeting the demand present in the market. The company is equipped with modern technologies and equipment. Around 700 people currently work here. 7 production lines are in operation.
Since 2005, “Saranist” has been producing bottles for wine, cognac, beer, mineral water, and juices. The company exports almost half of its products to Georgia.
Referring to cognac production, Melik Manukyan noted that mainly 7-10 year old cognac will be produced, the bulk of which will be exported. The company plans to procure 1,500 tons of grapes this year already. The process of signing relevant contracts with grape growers is currently underway.
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan welcomed the company’s initiative to expand operations, implement new investment programs, and create new jobs, adding that the government is ready, within the scope of its available tools, to contribute to the effective implementation of similar projects.
