No dram has been spent from the state budget on the occasion of Armenia’s Independence Day. This was assured today by the head of the Prime Minister’s staff, Arayik Harutyunyan, during the joint session of the standing committees of the National Assembly, while discussing the draft state budget, in response to the statements of Aghvan Vardanyan from the “Hayastan” faction.
“With the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, 0 drams have been spent on the Independence Day this year. Wherever we have the opportunity, we implement programmes with our partners so that there is no additional burden on the budget,” said Harutyunyan.
As for Citizen’s Day, for which, according to Aghvan Vardanyan, 400 million drams are to be allocated, Harutyunyan noted: “We must mark it every year, let me say more, if possible we must increase that budget, because, unlike the years of your government, the citizen is our supreme value. And it is the citizen who shows each of us our place in political life. Yes, we cannot celebrate the holiday of the oligarch and we will not, we will not celebrate the holiday of those who embezzle funds from the budget, that belongs to political forces carrying a different value system, we will celebrate the citizen’s holiday and with greater pomp,” noted Harutyunyan.
Let us recall that Aghvan Vardanyan had noted that on Independence Day, not 40 million drams but 400-450 million drams had been spent.
