Pashinyan, by opening the brackets today, confronted the entire Armenian political field with the international community: Papazyan

Prime Minister Pashinyan today in effect presented the international community’s approaches regarding the status of Artsakh, which by and large were not formed yesterday or a month or a year ago, but have been present throughout the entire settlement process. This was written on his Facebook page by Arman Papazyan, chairman of the “For the Republic” party.

The post also states:

“Of course, it is possible to repeat endlessly that Artsakh will not be part of Azerbaijan, and perhaps there is no Armenian from Armenia and no Armenian who can say the opposite.

However, in this situation, all political forces without exception, especially parliamentary ones, are required to assume the political responsibility for the opposite, including in the sense of relations with international actors. And these are at least three: the Minsk Group co-chair countries Russia, the United States and France.

Pashinyan, by opening the brackets in that sense on the question of international attitudes toward status, has in practice confronted the entire Armenian political field with the international community, each political force even with its own, so to speak, geopolitical preferences.

What are we politicians to do, what must the Armenian political forces do now? Our main task must be to demand a ‘response position’ after Pashinyan’s statement on status — one from Russia, another from the United States, yet another from France, at minimum as co-chair countries, to which we very often refer as a dignified alternative, a subject of foreign policy diversification, and many participants in the Armenian political palette sometimes swear in the name of those forces.

Many can continue to swear, of course, in the name of those countries or group of countries.

Here perhaps the main question is: the sober political strata of Armenian society must come forward with substantive approaches and solutions on the issue.

The question is no longer the ‘relationship’ or struggle between the governing force and the remaining forces, but discussions on solving the most important issue for Armenia and Artsakh, outside political responsibility and sober, free of pathos, pseudo-patriotism and toast-speeches, to ensure the maximum of Armenian interests and security in a fateful question”:
