Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Angela Merkel, on 28 September at 20:00. This was announced by the Government.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia presented the situation in the region. He noted that Artsakh has been subjected to attack by Azerbaijan and expressed deep concern over the ongoing military operations, which threaten the security of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia. He added that since the July events, Turkey has been displaying unprecedented activity in the region. Prime Minister Pashinyan called on the German Chancellor to exert every effort to curb Turkey’s aggressive and destructive stance and to rule out its involvement in the region.
The German Chancellor expressed her deep concern over the situation. She noted that the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has no alternative and emphasised the need to resume the peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
