President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian has sent a letter to the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping. President Sarkissian congratulated the President of China on the great progress recorded in the fight against the new type of coronavirus pandemic.
Noting that the containment of the pandemic was made possible thanks to the decisive measures of the Chinese government, as well as the tireless and selfless dedication of the people, President Sarkissian stated:
“The new type of coronavirus pandemic has once again proven that international partnership and solidarity are the only effective means of confronting such global challenges, since no region of the world can remain immune to the spread of the infection.”
Emphasising the consistent strengthening and deepening of traditional close cooperation with China, President Sarkissian, taking the opportunity, expressed his deep gratitude for the assistance continuously extended by China to Armenia in the direction of preventing and overcoming the new type of coronavirus.
Considering China’s experience in preventing the spread of the infection and effectively fighting the disease as instructive for Armenia, President Sarkissian at the same time proposed to consider the provision of further assistance by China to Armenia in the form of equipment, appropriate supplies, as well as professional support.
