Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the International Committee of the Red Cross is the only international organization operating in Nagorno-Karabakh that, particularly as a result of the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, significantly contributes to the mitigation and resolution of various problems arising from the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, providing humanitarian assistance. According to the Prime Minister, the International Committee of the Red Cross has a most important role and significance in the South Caucasus region.
The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross stated that they will continue, in accordance with their mandate, to contribute to the resolution of the humanitarian problems of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh. Mrs. Spoljaric also noted the fact of effective cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for ensuring communication between Armenian prisoners illegally held in Azerbaijan and their families to this day.
