US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian express support for the resumption of direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
The co-chairs call for the continuation of dialogue between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the continuation of contacts at the level of leaders, with the aim of ensuring lasting and stable peace in the region.
The co-chair countries call on Armenia and Azerbaijan to refrain from bellicose rhetoric and provocative actions and to fully implement the commitments undertaken on 9 November 2020, which the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan reaffirmed in their statement of 26 November 2021.
The co-chair countries also “note with concern the recent incidents on the un-demarcated Armenia-Azerbaijan border and reaffirm that the use or threat of force to resolve border disputes is unacceptable.”
The OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries reaffirm their commitment to work with the parties to find comprehensive solutions to all remaining issues related to or arising from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in accordance with their mandate, to ensure a secure, stable, prosperous and peaceful future for the South Caucasus region.
