“I am very grateful to our Armenian colleagues for supporting the idea of discussing the preparations of our countries for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.” This was stated at a press conference on 18 December, after the joint session of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs in the National Assembly, by the head of the Russian delegation, Konstantin Kosachev, who chairs the committee.
According to him, the Russian side is sincerely grateful to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for agreeing to participate in the Victory Parade on Red Square on 9 May. “And we have coordinated a programme of joint actions both here in Armenia and in Russia, as well as in the territories of third countries — those countries that are related to the Victory insofar as we ultimately achieve, through the international community, the recognition of the victory over Nazism in the Second World War as the world heritage of humanity, and the monuments immortalising that victory as world memorials of humanity,” said Kosachev.
