Yes, my dear people, the adversary has had success in some places; yes, they have approached the gates of Syunik, but the situation is not extreme. During a brief interview, the Ministry of Defense spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan reported this.
“I believe in the arm of the Armenian soldier; I believe in the mind, the skill, the endurance of the Armenian soldier. The Armenian soldier today, as yesterday, even if he has retreated somewhere, has in many places put to flight the special forces of the world’s leading armies, and this is repeated almost every day. Often we do retreat; we retreat because people’s lives are more precious; we occupy new lines, but that is not fatal. The situation is grave, the battles are fierce, the war is intense, but it is not hopeless,” said Artsrun Hovhannisyan.
The Ministry of Defense spokesperson also reported that the adversary today launched a large-scale offensive in the southeastern direction, simultaneously shelling and bombing the cities of Artsakh. “Throughout the day those marauding bands have not managed to breach the front, the given line, although in some places they have had apparent success, but our units have managed through counterattack to retake and restore the front line. At the same time, in the wooded area of the villages north of Hadrut, mentioned earlier, operations to search for and destroy infiltrating groups have continued; some groups, even abandoning their vehicles, have fled, but in several villages the fighting continues. In Shekher, Jivanik, Azokh and other adjacent villages, search-and-destroy operations continue.”
Hovhannisyan also noted that today the Armenian general stands beside the soldier. “Very often the Armenian general fights with a weapon in hand; the Armenian general, with an anti-tank weapon in hand, strikes hard, stands beside the soldier, stands beside the volunteer, and I am confident that we shall win. We have seen many such days in the course of our history; we have often stood before such a fateful moment, but I am confident that we shall win, because we have no alternative; this is the struggle of our existence.”
