RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed the joint statement with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and he made that decision also at my suggestion.
This was stated by the Chief of Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Onik Gasparyan, in an interview with «Haykakan Zhamanak». «The Prime Minister made that decision at my suggestion, taking into account the results of a comprehensive assessment of the situation that had arisen. That decision was an extreme necessity, and failure to accept it could have led to irreversible losses. This must be accepted and understood unequivocally. I consider that decision to be very correct, regardless of all speculation. This was the consequence of an assessment of a very bitter but objective situation for all of us,» said the Lieutenant General.
