The President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has signed a decree appointing Vagharshak Harutyunyan as Minister of Defense. This was announced by the Department of Public Relations of the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
“Based on the Prime Minister’s proposal, in accordance with Article 131 of the Constitution, as well as Part 1 of Article 5 of the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government,
appoint Vagharshak Harutyunyan as Minister of Defense,” the decree states.
By another decree of the President, Davit Tonoyan has been relieved of the post of Minister of Defense.
