In the meantime, Azerbaijan continues its attempts to accuse Armenia of not fulfilling its assumed obligations. Such attempts are futile and groundless. This was stated today, 22 December, by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting.
“In addition, I must say that the Republic of Armenia has conveyed to Azerbaijan its proposals regarding the peace treaty, and we are ready to sign a treaty with that content. I hope that Azerbaijan’s response will also be positive.
The Armenian side conveyed its proposals months ago to Azerbaijan regarding the further work of the commission on border delimitation and border security, but to this day we have not received a response.
The Republic of Armenia has conveyed to Azerbaijan its proposals regarding the reopening of regional communications and is ready to proceed along that path toward the immediate resolution of the issue. The Republic of Armenia conveyed its proposals months ago to Azerbaijan regarding the guarantee of border security, but to this day we have not received a response. Those proposals also include the resolution of the issue of Armenia’s occupied (seized) territories. Our position remains the same: Azerbaijan must cease the occupation (seizure) of the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia, and its troops must be withdrawn from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia,” stated Pashinyan.
He also emphasised that despite all difficulties and complexities, they will continue their efforts toward reaching comprehensive solutions and ensuring peace and stability. “However much we understand the difficulty of this mission, our attitude and determination do not change,” the Prime Minister concluded his remarks.
