Official Yerevan has confirmed the information about a meeting between Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev within the framework of the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels on December 15.
“Armenia agrees to the holding of that meeting,” stated Foreign Ministry press secretary Vahan Hunanyan.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, also confirming the news of the upcoming Brussels meeting, declared that Baku’s position regarding the situation created in the region after the Karabakh conflict has been voiced on numerous occasions, including on international platforms.
“In connection with the possible meeting of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev, various proposals are being discussed in various formats.” Armenpress, in response to a question, Foreign Minister’s press spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan said this, addressing the question of whether the circulating reports about a meeting of the RA Prime Minister and the President of Azerbaijan on November 26 in Sochi are true.
“Various proposals for meetings in various formats are being discussed, and when any agreement is reached regarding dates, venue and formats, we will inform in advance within reasonable timeframes,” said Vahan Hunanyan.
