On 23 October, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in the United States on a working visit, met with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Andrew Schofer (USA), Stéphane Visconti (France), as well as the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
The interlocutors addressed the situation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed deep concern over Azerbaijan’s violation of the ceasefire agreements reached on 10 and 17 October, and stressed that Azerbaijan’s aspirations to resolve the conflict by military means are a challenge to the entire region.
The sides reaffirmed the immediate establishment of a stable ceasefire, maintained by mechanisms for the implementation and verification of the agreements reached on the cessation of hostilities. The need to continue the peace process exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship was emphasized, the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
