Eleven new cases of the coronavirus have been registered in Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this in a live broadcast on his Facebook page on 6 April.
“263 tests were conducted, of which only 11 returned positive results. This is an unprecedented figure for recent weeks. This means that the measures, which are causing numerous inconveniences, have begun to yield positive results. During the coming week, the restrictions of the regime must be observed more strictly. In that case, the likelihood increases that from Monday we may begin to think about easing the regimes. I repeat that in the coming week we must try to observe the existing restrictions more diligently. Today’s data give us hope; of course, we must also analyse tomorrow’s figures,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
He also reported that one more death had been registered. A 68-year-old citizen with bilateral pneumonia died. According to the Prime Minister, his death is presumably the result of the coronavirus. The citizen had underlying health conditions.
The number of confirmed cases in Armenia thus reached 833; 57 people have recovered, and eight people have died.
