Because of the blockade by Azerbaijan of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, 12 people with severe oncological and cardiovascular diseases were transferred today, 17 March, from the “Republican Medical Center” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh to specialized medical centers of the Republic of Armenia, through the mediation and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross. This was announced by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh.
10 patients, who had been referred within the framework of the state order to receive treatment in the Republic of Armenia, returned to Artsakh with their escorts.
In medical institutions operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh, scheduled surgeries continue to remain suspended.
In the “Arevik” medical association, 7 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units.
In the “Republican Medical Center”, 5 patients are in the intensive care unit, 1 of whom is in extremely critical condition.
Until today, a total of 194 patients have been transferred from Artsakh to Armenia through the mediation and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
