The number of beneficiaries of the Fund has changed: the families of 153 more heroic servicemen who fell in the war unleashed by the enemy on 27 September have received compensation. This was announced by the Servicemen’s Insurance Fund.
Thus, the number of the Fund’s primary beneficiaries is 4,177. Of that number, 416 had become beneficiaries of the Fund before the 2020 war. You can view the list here.
The Servicemen’s Insurance Fund was established to provide social welfare and stable, equal insurance compensation to servicemen who fell, went missing, or acquired 1st or 2nd degree military disability while defending the borders of the homeland, and to their families. The Fund’s resources are generated from mandatory monthly payments by persons earning income in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as from voluntary donations, which are also provided from the Diaspora.
To replenish the Fund’s resources, an Arevagorg (Sun Carpet) is being woven in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel in Yerevan. Each of us can have our own knot in the carpet. The symbolic Arevagorg, belonging to the series of carpets of the Jraberd region of Artsakh, can also be woven online.
