Azerbaijani servicemen, through their criminal acts of 19 July 2021, violated the rights of the residents of Tegh village in the Syunik Province of the Republic of Armenia, wrote RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page.
In particular, on the basis of complaints and alerts, the fact-finding work of the RA Human Rights Defender established the following.
First, it was established that one of the residents of Tegh village in Syunik Province, on 19 July 2021, between approximately 10:00 and 10:30 in the morning, was carrying out agricultural work on a plot of land belonging to him and his family by right of ownership on the basis of legal documents. In particular, he was harvesting grain with a machine.
When the machine had finished its work in one of the edge sections and was located at a distance of about 150 metres from that place, towards the interior of the territory of the Republic of Armenia, he noticed that a number of armed Azerbaijani servicemen were approaching him. Upon approaching, the Azerbaijani servicemen threatened the resident of Tegh village with weapons, shouted at and pulled at him, and tried to forcibly move him towards their positions.
The fact-finding work confirms that the servicemen of the Azerbaijani armed forces in fact unlawfully deprived of liberty the resident of Tegh village who was harvesting grain with a machine on his own plot of land, and for a sustained period hindered the carrying out of agricultural work.
Through the efforts of the head of the community, the command staffs of the RA armed forces and the local Russian border guard troops, the resident and his machine were returned to the Armenian side.
