28 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Armenia. As reported by Armenpress, this was announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a Facebook live broadcast.
“We had 685 tests yesterday, of which 28 were positive. We have very important statistics, as for the first time our positive cases are almost twice fewer than the cases of recovery. As of yesterday, we had 54 cases of recovery. Today we have 786 active cases, meaning we have a certain decrease in active cases. This is also the first time that, by the day’s results, the number of our infected patients is not increasing but decreasing,” said Pashinyan.
In Armenia, as of 11:00 on 14 April, the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus is 1067, with 16 deaths recorded. Of the tests, 8316 have returned negative results. The number of recovered patients has increased by 54, bringing the total number of those cured to 265. At this moment, 786 patients are receiving actual treatment.
At an extraordinary session held on 14 April, the Armenian government adopted a decision to extend the state of emergency declared in the republic on 16 March 2020 by 30 days, from 17:00 on 14 April 2020 until 17:00 on 14 May 2020. A regime of strict restrictions is to be in effect in the country.
