In the Republic of Armenia, over a six-month period, 6,565 jobs have come to light, that is, been created or brought out of the shadows, wrote Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.
“As of 29 November 2019, compared to May 2018, 81,534 new jobs have come to light in Armenia (been created or brought out of the shadows). As of 29 October 2019, that number was 74,969 jobs. That is, in the course of one month, 6,565 jobs have come to light in Armenia (been created or brought out of the shadows),” wrote Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister stressed that the distribution of the October figure of 74,969 and the November figure of 81,534 by income tax bracket, that is, by salary, is interesting.
“The distribution of October’s 74,969 jobs was as follows: 30.4 per cent, or 22,810 jobs, fell in the salary bracket up to 150,000 drams; 68.9 per cent, or 51,723 jobs, in the bracket from 150,000 to 2 million drams; and 0.5 per cent, or 423 jobs, in the bracket above 2 million drams. The distribution of November’s 81,534 new jobs is as follows: 28.5 per cent, or 23,250 jobs, fall in the salary bracket up to 150,000 drams; 70.8 per cent, or 57,736 jobs, fall in the bracket from 150,000 to 2 million drams; and 0.6 per cent, or 548 jobs, in the bracket above 2 million drams. As you can see, the share of high-salary jobs in the distribution of newly emerged jobs is steadily growing, which testifies to a deep and positive transformation of the economy. I have no doubt that a significant portion of the jobs in this bracket pertains to the IT sector,” noted the Prime Minister.
Nikol Pashinyan added that newly emerging jobs have a certain seasonal character.
“For example, in September, compared to August, they had declined by about 3,000. But this does not affect the overall dynamics, which we calculate from May 2018, that is, from the victory of the revolution. In Armenia, as you can see, a huge number of new jobs have come to light, and this process will continue,” wrote Pashinyan.
