Hours ago, 67 Armenian citizens arrived in Yerevan on a special flight from Rome.
All passengers have been placed in quarantine on the grounds of the Monte Melkonian military training college in Dilijan, which has separate infrastructure. This was announced by Shushan Stepanyan, spokesperson for the RA Ministry of Defense.
“Proceeding from Article 8 of the RA law on ensuring the epidemiological safety of the population, which defines the powers of state and local self-government bodies in the field of ensuring the epidemiological safety of the population, the Ministry of Defense has been authorized by the government to coordinate and use all its infrastructure and resources for organizing sanitation and epidemiological measures and ensuring the epidemiological safety of the population, primarily servicemen.
As necessary, the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with state agencies, will place its full potential and infrastructure at the service of preventing and eliminating the coronavirus. At the same time, I inform that this decision will have no impact on the educational process. The college grounds will be disinfected after preventive measures,” wrote Shushan Stepanyan.
