Any assistance in regulating the situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be welcomed, but only on the basis of the trilateral agreements between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Any assistance in regulating the situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be welcomed, but only on the basis of the trilateral agreements between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to him, there is no alternative to them. This was stated by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“The resolution of issues between the two countries and the possible development of certain joint actions and steps aimed at easing tensions in the region can primarily be based on the trilateral documents signed jointly with Russia. For now, there are no other legal bases that would contribute to a settlement. Therefore, to date, these trilateral documents have absolutely no alternative,” Peskov said.

He noted that these trilateral documents still have no alternative.

“Of course, any assistance that can help a settlement on this basis is welcome, but we also know that there are various attempts that undermine the foundations of the settlement, which may later yield no results. We hope that in this case we are speaking of the first instance,” Peskov added.

Official Yerevan has repeatedly stated that Azerbaijan does not abide by the trilateral declaration. Last March, during a meeting in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said: “There is no provision of the trilateral declaration that Baku has not violated.”
