On Monday afternoon, July 22, a delegation of the ADL Central Board, comprising Dr. Raffi Balian, Ara Aharonyan, Kevork Halebleyan, Panik Keshishyan, and Honorary Member of the ADL Central Board Hagop Nazaryan, met with the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia, Dr. Armen Baibourtian, at the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Glendale, California.
During the meeting, which lasted approximately one hour, the Consul General, after officially congratulating the ADL Central Board elected at the 28th General Congress of the ADL, highlighted the recent visits of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and National Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan to the East Coast of the United States.
During the meeting, the upcoming arrival of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in the United States and his inaugural two-day visit to Los Angeles, scheduled for this coming September, was discussed. On that occasion, a community-wide committee is to be formed to plan and carry out a fitting reception in honor of the Prime Minister, preferably with broad public participation.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to address various organizational matters of concern to the community and the work of pan-diasporan structures.
